Psalm 107
13 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. 14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And broke their chains in pieces. 15 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! It’s sad to see someone who used to be in a dark place, then God helped them, and strengthened them and brought them out, but they don’t even give him the credit for it. Or they take the credit for themselves, and they say “I did this." Really? Are you Houdini? Did you break those chains in pieces? I wonder how many times this happens. Maybe they pray in desperation and then forget that prayer. And let doubt ruin any possibility of a relationship with God. They won’t even utter the name of Jesus in the presence of another person unless it be a curse word. Let alone confess that He is Lord. How many people die in this state, irreversibly separated from Him? No reconciliation. No relationship. There is no hope for the person who continues to deny the power of God. Because there is no other God who loves you. Matthew 10:32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven." Mark 8:38 "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
